Barbara Turner, CRCP
Barbara A. Turner is one of four members of the Office of the CEO of Ohio National Financial Services, a Cincinnati, Ohio-based financial services firm. The Office of the CEO was created in January 2017 and is responsible for providing ongoing strategic leadership and agility in guiding the organization to ensure its long term goals are met. In January 2016, Barbara was named Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. As Chief Administrative Officer, Barbara is responsible for an operating budget of approximately $100 million and oversees over 60% of ONFS’s employees. Areas of responsibility include the customer experience; life, disability income and annuity new business, operations, compliance and administration; life underwriting; life, disability income and annuity claims and reinsurance; agents compensation and benefits; contracting and licensing; information technology; data strategy; business continuity and disaster recovery; and the document management functions that support Ohio National’s businesses, policy owners and distribution partners. Barbara was the Annuities Strategic Business Unit Leader prior to becoming the Chief Administrative Officer. Variable annuity sales were $2 billion and assets under management exceeded $20 billion under Barbara’s leadership. Previously, Barbara served as President and Chief Executive Officer of The O.N. Equity Sales Company (“ONESCO”), Ohio National’s retail broker-dealer and O.N. Investment Management Company (“ONIMCO”), Ohio National’s retail investment advisory firm. ONESCO has over 800 independent contractor financial advisors located throughout the United States and offers a wide array of investment products and services for retail investors. Under Barbara’s leadership, ONESCO experienced historic growth; posted sixteen consecutive years of profitability and was recognized as a top broker dealer in the country by Financial Planning Magazine. ONESCO’s revenue topped $60 million and client assets exceeded $8 billion during Barbara’s tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer. Barbara continues to serve on ONESCO’s Board of Directors. Barbara also previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for Ohio National Financial Services. In this role, she developed and implemented the framework for Ohio National’s enterprise Corporate Compliance and Ethics program.
Barbara has over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry. She began her career with Ohio National in 1997 and was employed by Reynolds DeWitt as Trading, Operations and Systems Manager prior to joining Ohio National. Prior to joining Reynolds DeWitt in 1987, she worked at Provident Bank as a Trust, Fed Funds and Repo Trader.
Barbara is a Cincinnati native and attended the University of Cincinnati and Western Hills High School. She lives in West Chester with her husband, Daman. They are the proud parents of three adult children and grandparents of three. Barbara enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, giving back to the community, enjoying Cincinnati arts events, cooking and reading. She has a special interest in and passion for mentoring at-risk teenage girls and single moms and helping women achieve self-sufficiency and financial independence. Barbara launched the Ohio National Women’s Network (OWN) in 2016 and has formerly mentored or sponsored over 50 employees since joining ONFS.

She was a 2003 YWCA Rising Star and was the first YWCA Rising Star to be recognized as a YWCA of Cincinnati Career Women of Achievement (2006). The YWCA Career Women of Achievement Award is amongst the highest recognition for career women in Cincinnati. In 2009, Barbara was recognized by Wealth Manager Magazine as one of the Top 50 Women in Wealth Management in the country.

Brian L. Meyers, M.A.
Brian L Meyers, MA, is a lively and inspiring educator and writer. He has had a long-standing fascination with understanding how the human mind works. He is currently completing a masters degree in clinical mental health studies at Northern Kentucky University and has a 200-hour registered yoga teacher certification in Yin Yoga. He has also been a student of various meditation disciplines through internal martial arts.
Lydell Carter, CPA
Lydell has close to 15 years of experience in the financial services industry primarily involving healthcare, manufacturing and insurance companies. Lydell currently serves as the Director of Finance at Episcopal Retirement Services located in Cincinnati, OH. His primary functions involve providing recommendations on ERS strategic initiatives along with conducting financial planning and forecasting for the Continuing Care Retirement Communities and Affordable Living campuses. Prior to ERS, he has worked as a portfolio manager at Huntington Bank and Fifth Third Bank and was a Finance Manager at American Modern Insurance Group for their Financial Institutions Division. He is a certified public accountant and holds a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Morehead State University. He obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Finance from The Ohio State University.
Lydell is married to a wonderful woman named Lisa. They have 3 kids named Natalie (3), Charlie (3) and Emmett (9 months). Outside of spending time with the family, Lydell enjoys anything outdoors, athletic and challenging.

Mary Schoen, M.A.
Mary Schoen, theologian, educator, and public speaker, has taught and worked extensively with the vehicle of the breath as an agent of healing. She has led many workshops on mind, body, and spiritual integration and wellness. She is a certified Breathwork facilitator. Are you breathing effectively? Grandmaster John W. Johnson
Grandmaster John Johnson, 8th Dan, has trained in the Martial Arts for over 49 years.
Master Johnson started karate in the Shuri Ryu style under Mr. Dave Stewart in 1964 after returning from the army. He continued studies from 1965-66 in the Chinese Kempo style under Master Victor Moore. In 1967 he began training under Master Kyong Won Ahn where he was promoted to Black Belt in 1969.
Master Johnson co-founded the National Black Belt Karate Association (NBBKA) and served two terms as its first president. Master Johnson’s emphasis on personal and technical excellence has inspired countless martial arts practitioners, and gained him the respect of the entire martial arts community.
Mr. Johnson is a Proctor and Gamble retiree as he was a buyer and building coordinator for biological testing materials.
Master Johnson is a long time volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the American Red Cross, where he is certified in emergency resuscitation.
He and his wife currently reside in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Master Terrence Forte
Master Forte is a 7th Degree Black Belt in the Art of Tang Soo Do.
Master Forte started the Martial Arts in 1973 under the direction of the late great Grandmaster George Wharton & Chief Instructor Master John Johnson.
Mr. Forte graduated from Aiken High School in 1977 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1981.
Mr. Forte retired from the Cincinnati Police department in November 2016 after 30 years of service.
Mr. Forte has also worked for the State of Ohio and The Department of Defense. He currently works for the Silverton School District and is an “alert lockdown inform counter and evacuate certified instructor”…..“ALICE”
Mr. Forte is active in the community as a member of Phi Beta Sigma and as a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America.

Frederick D. Dace
Master Freddy Dace has studied the Martial Arts style of Tang Soo Do under the direction of the late great Grandmaster George Wharton & Chief instructor Master John Johnson since 1974.
Mr. Dace has competed (and won) in karate tournaments in the Midwest for 3 decades. He also helped launch the Lincoln Martial Arts Karate Academy in 1998 which has produced many young black belts students.
Mr. Dace along with Master Terrence Forte exposed the students of Lincoln Martial Academy to the joys of travel with annual trips to Saint Louis, Chicago, and several other cities in the Midwest for competitions.
Mr. Dace was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He currently works in the IT field for Tek Systems as a Computer Specialist consultant.
Mr. Dace currently lives and works in Amelia, Ohio.
Amy Smith, Game On! Fitness
Amy Smith is a life-long leader in the health industry, and founder of Game On! Fitness, a family-friendly fitness studio that specializes in a variety of group fitness classes, personal training, nutrition sessions and camps for adults and children. Amy is a former athlete, coach and elementary school teacher. Additionally, she holds multiple certifications and CECs (Group Fitness, Kickboxing, Personal Training, Pilates, Yoga, Kids’ Yoga, Barre and Sports Training for the Female Athlete).
Amy Smith is also the founder of Strengthening HOPE, a cancer foundation created when her mother was diagnosed with Primary Peritoneal Cancer. With her passion for fitness, Strengthening HOPE produced two nationally recognized fitness DVDs with proceeds funding cancer research.
With over twenty years as a fitness leader, Amy is a trusted exercise source and 700 WLW AM Radio’s Fitness Expert. She has also been recognized in the Tri-County Press, Cincinnati Enquirer and Cincy Chic Magazine. Most recently, Amy was honored as a lululemon Ambassador for promoting healthy lifestyles to people of all ages.
Sarah Koeninger, The Little Clinic
Sarah Koeninger, RD, LD, serves as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for The Little Clinic in Cincinnati. Koeninger earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Eastern Kentucky University and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, where she serves on the Dietary Practice Groups for Weight Management; Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition; Dietitians in Business and Communications; and Food and Culinary Professionals. She is also a member of the Retail Dietitians Business Alliance. Her focus in working with people towards their health goals is moderation. She believes that there is room in a well-balanced and healthy diet for favorite foods and comfort foods. Most people know what they should or should not be eating often, Sarah wants to help people understand why and how to adjust their eating behaviors in small ways that allow them to still enjoy their food and eating experiences while also improving their health. Sarah enjoys simplifying confusing health and nutrition messages to make them easier to understand and implement. She likes to take favorite recipes and make small substitutions to improve the nutrition of them and focuses on this with patients and customers. Sarah considers simple planning and small, steady steps, to being the keys to reach health goals and to maintain them.
